What you can add without losing compatibility
Every device below works with all the ecosystems the Aqara Video Doorbell G4 does, so adding one keeps your options open.
Smart bulbs
-
Nanoleaf Essentials Matter A19 Smart Bulb $20
Matter over Thread: 'Requires a Matter compatible smart home hub, thread border router' (HomePod mini, Nest Hub 2nd gen, Echo 4th gen listed). Bluetooth-only control possible with the Nanoleaf app alone. Home Assistant via Matter (HA is a Matter controller with a Thread border router).
-
Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance A19 (60W) $55
Bluetooth alone gives app-only control. All ecosystem integrations (Alexa, Google, Apple Home, SmartThings) and Matter run via the Hue Bridge; Home Assistant reachable via the Bridge's Matter exposure or HA's Hue integration.
-
TP-Link Tapo L535E Matter Smart Bulb (1100 lm) —

-
Eve Energy Smart Plug & Power Meter —
'Works with Apple Home, Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant' (Eve). Matter over Thread - needs a Thread border router of your platform. Energy monitoring surfaces on SmartThings and Home Assistant (plus the Eve app).
Light switches
-
Lutron Caseta Diva Smart Dimmer Switch $88
Lutron ClearConnect radio; every integration runs through the Lutron Smart Hub ('The smart hub contains Apple Home technology'). 'No neutral wire required.' Home Assistant: official local HA integration exists but was not verified in this pass.
-
Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch (KS205) —
TP-Link's own product page: 'Matter-certified - Integrate Matter-certified Kasa devices with other certified products into any Matter-certified ecosystem' and 'Manage your smart switch with voice commands via Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri(R), or Google Assistant.' SmartThings and Home Assistant are claimed on the Matter path, not named individually - same basis as the other Matter-native devices here, since all five are Matter controllers. Matter runs over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so there is no Thread border router and no bridge. **Neutral wire required** - the page states it in the specs, and it is the deciding difference against the Lutron Diva, which needs none. Rated 15 A / 600 W max incandescent, 1/6 HP motor; on/off only, no dimming.
-
Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Dimmer Switch (KS225) —
Dimmer: 150 W LED (MLV) / 300 W incandescent, leading-edge (triac phase-cut) dimming - TP-Link's page itself advises checking bulb compatibility for leading-edge dimming.
Thermostats
-
ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium $260
'Works with Apple HomeKit', 'Alexa Built-in', Google Assistant voice, SmartThings listed (ecobee). Dual-band WiFi + BT 5.0 + 915 MHz for its room sensors. Matter not advertised. Home Assistant: HomeKit-controller path exists, not verified here.
-
Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) $280
Google Home native. 'Finally adds Apple Home support via Matter' - pair via Settings > Matter QR code; 'you do need to have a Home Hub to use Matter accessories' (Apple TV/HomePod on the Apple side). Alexa/SmartThings/HA via Matter. Caveat: the included room temperature sensors 'don't support Matter or Apple Home' - they stay Google-only.
Door locks
-
Aqara Smart Lock U100 $190
'Fully supports the Apple Home app' incl. Apple home key - works standalone for the Apple path. Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT and Matter each require an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub ('To use remote features... an Aqara 3.0 hub is required'). SmartThings/HA not manufacturer-claimed.
-
Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt $300
Apple Home incl. Apple home key (tap iPhone/Watch, NFC). 'Integrates with Amazon's and Google's smart home platforms as well.' 2.4 GHz WiFi + Bluetooth. No Matter on this model (Schlage's Matter-over-Thread lock is the newer Sense Pro). SmartThings/HA not verified.
-
Yale Assure Lock 2 (with Bluetooth) —
Bare, this is the Bluetooth model (YRD410/420/430/450-BLE) and reaches no ecosystem — it is driven by the Yale Access app in range. Every ecosystem below comes from a swappable Smart Module, listed as variants. Yale's Matter lock is a SEPARATE product ('Yale Smart Lock with Matter'), not a module for this one, so no Matter path is claimed here.
Sensors
-
Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 $30
Native Matter over Thread; 'A Matter-compatible Thread Border Router is required' (Apple TV 4K, HomePod, SmartThings hubs, Echo 4th gen, Nest Hub 2nd gen/Max, HA Yellow all listed by Aqara). Works with 'Aqara, Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings'.
-
Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 $34
Native Matter over Thread; requires a Matter-compatible Thread border router. US store page lists Apple Home, Alexa, Samsung, Home Assistant, Homey; Google via Matter. Caveat: 'The light sensor functionality may be unavailable with some Matter apps such as Amazon Alexa.' 2x CR2450, up to 2 years.
-
Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 (mmWave) $83
2.4 GHz WiFi, 'Hub Required: No'. Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home supported; 'Home Assistant... via HomeKit Controller integration' (Aqara's own page). SmartThings only appears in customer reviews - not counted. 60-64 GHz mmWave presence radar, multi-zone.
-
Eve Door & Window (Matter) —
Matter over Thread; 'this Matter-enabled device requires a hub that supports both Thread and Matter.' Works-with badges for all five platforms on Eve's page.
Cameras
-
Aqara Camera Hub G3 $119.99
Aqara's product page: 'Supports HomeKit Secure Video, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home.' The page's own footnote is what pins this down and is the reason the list is only three: '* The Camera Hub G3 is only exposed to HomeKit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa AS A CAMERA. At the same time, it exposes the supported Aqara child devices to Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT, Yandex Alice, VK Marusya.' The longer list is what it BRIDGES, not what sees the camera - IFTTT/Alice/Marusya are not claimed here, and SmartThings and Home Assistant are not mentioned at all. It is also a Zigbee 3.0 hub for Aqara child devices, so it needs no hub itself. 2304x1296 (2K) sensor, dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi. HomeKit Secure Video may need an iCloud+ plan - Aqara notes third-party cloud storage 'may require additional subscription fee'.
